Entry & money order is in the mail. Our ride’s a ’71 Triumph Spitfire. Hoping we make it onto the entry list – we’re first time participants. Sounds like it should be most enjoyable run.

Entry and money in today’s mail – date stamped at post office.

Not sure which ride. Could 1979 Mini 1000 or 1977 MGB/Buick hybrid as both are going into the market. But possible that we might drive one and ‘a buyer’ the other…for someone wanting a Classic Mini or MGB/Buick hybrid.

Selling because we have a 1962 Austin Countryman (Woody Wagon) to build and a 1973 Australian Clubman Window Van to get back across the Pacific Ocean.

Some very interesting cars. On previous years there was an MG with no roof at all. At Hope one year guys in a Triumph TR 6 put the top in the trunk and said they would not put it up. Duffey Lake still had ice and it was a bit above freezing with a few snow flakes.

This year there is an Aston Martin that may not have any top.

In a collegial spirit we will run our Alfa Spider with the roof down–as much as possible. For this some additional comforts are being prepared. Spiders are cold riding and the heater is modest and on the passenger side. Have added a “wind deflector” at the back of the seat and improved the lap robes. And this week found some rechargeable seat warmers. New gloves with an extra layer for the back will help.

    Ciao

However if it gets wet the roof id good and only leaks on Lois’s side.

Hi Mariposa! Just checking in and thrilled to see your post. Ivy and I were at the shop until 11 last night working on our ride, I figure we are about 2 weeks away so I think it will be a few more late nights! We are both looking forward to seeing you again and meeting your daughter! What is your daughters name?

hi henry, her name is amelia and she is turning 12 this weekend, good luck getting the car ready, we have had the r 16 on the road for a few weeks driving it around a bit and i think it is ready to go, next year i hope to go in the 1972 citroen ds 21 we are just in the midst of getting. i wanted to go in the renault 8 this year but the thought of driving it all the way to start in squamish plus the rally and drive home is about 2500km for us and i think our chiropractor would benefit from it more than us!! the r-8 is the best car i own but only 3 or 4 hours at a time!!! see you at the start..keinan.

It is Saturday morning and time to check the 14-day forecast. Showery on THE Friday, with sunshine for Saturday and Sunday. Above average temperatures.

Duffy Lake Pass highway cam shows very little by way of snow banks left.

hi henry, we have had an unfortunate change of plans in that amelia and mariposa will not be able to come with me on the trip this time, nothing too drastic, just a lingering sickness that is keeping them down and between that and having a hard time finding a doggy babysitter, and so on they stay and i go..see you there.keinan

    Outstanding route.

I’ve never driven the section from Revelstoke to Lumby. Was with the first two cars off the second ferry. Some of the best “press-on” driving I’ve done in years. The old Alfa Spider performed without a problem. Lois has nerves of steel, but then we used to paddle a hot tandem white water canoe.

    Thanks guys………Bob
